This piece was inspired by an incredible bloom of Orchid flowers in late November 2020. 
 
'Orchid in Bloom' was painted using Sakura Koi watercolours on a 18 x 26 cm Arches watercolur paper. This rough grain, 100% pure cotton paper offered the artist a rough texture on which to attempt this recreation of nature. Once painted the entire subject was outlined using Platinum Carbon Ink.
